The rule of thirds is exemplified in this photo. The koala's eye is in direct contact with the upper left intersection. This creates a focal point towards the koala's eye. Also the green colors in the background contrast with the grey color of the koala. With the high contrast, the koala stands out and remains the focal point of the image. With the bright photo, viewers are drawn to the magnificent green of the background.
This portrait encompasses the beauty of a single human in civilization. The girl is in her natural living space. She expresses her culture and innocence. Her eyes are the focus of the image, drawing the viewer to her green colored eyes. Her green eyes contrast with her red veil, which enacts balance within the photo. The emphasis of her eyes creates a sense of feeling and allows the reader to interpret the life of the girl. She is covering her face showing that she is shy and not as revealing. She is innocent and beautiful. There is a lot to look forward to for the young girl's future.
The sun in the background of the photo creates a magnificent silhouette. The flowers in the foreground become the main focus of the picture. There is also a balance of warm and cold color in the sky. The sun is a warm yellow contrasted by the blue sky. This contrast provides a sense of unity with the background and foreground. The flowers can easily be identified due to their distinct shape. The silhouette fully expresses the flowers, tying multiple elements in the picture in order to create a beautiful sight.
Ansel Adams uses many elements of photography within his photos. Adams uses point with the rock. It is the focus point of the photograph. In order to draw attention, line is used with the tree. The tree serves as an arrow that points to the rock. The shapes of the tree and rocks are organic and natural. Also, the color of the photo creates a different sort of mood, through the use of black and white. The mood is more sophisticated and beautiful than a full color photo. The light shining on the rock further conveys it as a focus point. The darkness of the tree provides some depth that makes the rock look farther away. The texture in the photo is rather rough, and then it turns in to a smoother texture as you approach the rock. There is a perspective of seeing the tree at one angle, where the rock is behind that angle. The tree is almost reaching for the rock and trying to become the focus point. |
